Manager Operations - Underwriting Support

Reporting to the Director of Underwriting Operations, The Manager provides dedicated support, leadership and development to the Underwriting Support team across the country.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the Underwriting Operations Team across Canada in a hybrid environment, including vacation days scheduling to meet business needs.
• Work with Director and Team Leads to ensure training material is up to date. Identify training needs and deliver same from time to time.
• Work with Product Managers and Team Leads to create new issuance templates and oversee UAT testing.
• Assist in new product enhancements within (underwriting system)
• Identify discrepancies and gaps in processes and workflows and work with Director on successful implementation of such workflows.
• Ensure adherence to agreed service standards.
• Identify and implement transformational changes to generate efficiencies and drive better customer experiences while ensuring the teams adheres to documented workflows.
• Collaborate with all levels of management to make certain that company goals, metrics, and tasks are completed, and work towards ensuring they are met or bettered.
• Assist in hiring and onboarding of new team members.
• Partner with the management team in reporting on team members, their goals and their development.
• Participate in mid-year and annual performance reviews.
• Drive employee engagement and a high-performance culture ensuring effective performance management through feedback and coaching sessions, auditing, and calibration, creating an environment where people can excel through accountability, encouragement and empowerment.
