An established and growing independent insurance brokerage is seeking an entrepreneurial and growth-oriented Commercial Lines Account Executive to join its team.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Generate new commercial insurance opportunities through proactive prospecting and business development activities.
  • Develop and execute strategic pipeline-building initiatives across target industries and market segments.
  • Build relationships through networking, referrals, centres of influence, community engagement, and direct outreach.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through proposal development, presentations, placement, and onboarding.
  • Identify client risks and exposures and develop tailored commercial insurance solutions.
  • Establish and maintain long-term client relationships focused on trust, retention, and account growth.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and market presence of the organization.

Client & Market Management

  • Collaborate with internal marketing, placement, and service teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market conditions, insurer appetite, and emerging industry trends.
  • Negotiate with insurance carriers to secure competitive coverage solutions for clients.
  • Utilize CRM platforms and brokerage systems to manage opportunities, pipeline activity, and client interactions.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Preference for 5+ years of commercial insurance experience.
  • Experience in business development, producer, sales, or client-facing commercial insurance roles is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional junior candidates with strong business development skills and commercial acumen will also be considered.
  • Proven track record of generating new business and building strong professional relationships.
  • Strong prospecting, networking, and consultative selling abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and create momentum.
  • Comfortable engaging with business owners, executives, and decision-makers across a variety of industries.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with brokerage management systems, CRM platforms, and digital sales tools.
  • Insurance licensing required.
  • CIP designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.

Salary Information

Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined by our client and may vary based on several factors, including local market conditions, geographic location, and job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, experience, education, and credentials.

Expected salary range: $55,000.00 – $75,000.00 annually + commission.
