The Opportunity

Our client, a growing and highly respected insurance brokerage, is seeking an experienced Insurance Operations Manager to provide leadership, operational oversight, and strategic support within its commercial insurance division.

This role combines people leadership, operational management, and process improvement responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple departments to enhance service delivery, improve operational efficiency, support team development, and contribute to organizational growth initiatives.

This position is ideal for an insurance professional who enjoys leading teams, driving change, and building strong relationships across a business.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to a commercial insurance operations team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development initiatives.
  • Assist team members with technical guidance and problem resolution.

Operations & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate current workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, and operational performance.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements that support business objectives.
  • Monitor service standards and team performance to ensure client expectations are consistently met.
  • Lead and participate in operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Business Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales, service, and leadership teams to support business growth and client retention.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance markets, business partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key point of coordination between regional teams and corporate functions.
  • Support strategic planning and organizational initiatives as required.

Technical & Administrative Support

  • Assist with the resolution of complex technical and service-related issues.
  • Support operational reporting, documentation, and compliance activities.
  • Provide assistance with departmental administration and special projects.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Credentials

  • Active RIBO license in good standing.
  • Minimum five years of leadership or operational management experience within the insurance industry.
  • Minimum three years of commercial insurance placement or marketing experience.
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations, brokerage workflows, and industry regulations.
  • Post-secondary education and/or industry designations such as CIP, CAIB, CRM, or equivalent experience.

Salary Information

Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined by our client and may vary based on several factors, including local market conditions, geographic location, and job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, experience, education, and credentials.

Expected salary range: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 annually.
