Commercial Marketing/Placement Leader
The Senior Marketer will be working alongside and reporting to the Director | Commercial Lines to drive profitable new business growth within our commercial business.
· You will provide commercial marketing expertise to sales and service staff to facilitate placement of risks with strategic insurance company partners.
· Responsible for maintaining commercial marketing service levels on new business accounts to facilitate organic growth of the company.
· You will be responsible for mentoring and teaching junior team members to ensure quality submissions and positive relationships with carriers.
Responsibilities:
· Facilitate the acquisition of new business accounts through comparative quoting, coverage review, negotiation, proposal development, and binding instructions.
· Maintain strong, productive relationships with producers, insurance carriers, and all internal staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
· Effectively use technology and online tools, including company portals, EPIC, and other resources, ensuring they are utilized to their full potential.
· Maintain accuracy and integrity of data entry across all platforms and systems.
· Handle remarkets and escalations in collaboration with producers or Account Managers, providing solutions and support as needed.
· Stay informed about changes in the commercial insurance marketplace, including shifts in appetite, restrictions, and commission structures for both standard and non-standard markets.
· Align activities to support the organic growth and profitability of the company, achieving new business targets while maintaining a high standard of service and client satisfaction
· Ability to create RFPs, Proposals and Binders for Senior Brokers, Account Executives and Account Managers
· Coach less experienced Account Executives proper risk information gathering and underwriting guidelines
· Proficient on insurance carrier portals
· All other duties and projects as assigned
Business Development & Growth
· Own the success of assigned accounts and proactively drive business growth.
· Identify opportunities to expand relationships and revenue with brokers and clients.
· Earn the trust of sales and program teams through frequent, proactive communication and collaborative problem-solving.
· Take accountability for outcomes — “live and die with each account” — making strategic recommendations to improve performance.
· Collaborate with internal teams to align marketing strategies with business objectives and target growth metrics.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
· Mentor, coach, and guide junior staff, including onboarding and training new hires.
· Lead by example in execution of marketing strategies, client interactions, and professional conduct.
· Develop departmental training programs and resources to ensure team competency and operational excellence.
Strategic Representation & Stakeholder Engagement
· Represent the company at broker/insurer meetings, industry conferences, and cross-functional initiatives.
· Build and maintain strong professional relationships with insurers, underwriters, and brokers.
· Serve as a trusted resource for sales teams and internal stakeholders on commercial marketing matters.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Strong understanding of commercial lines products, market appetite, and placement strategies.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
· Proficiency with EPIC, company portals, Power Broker BMS, Policyworks, and other relevant tools.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain operational excellence under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial insurance marketing or CSR role, ideally with exposure to all lines of commercial business.
· RIBO licensed.
· University Degree or College Diploma in Business or related field an asset.
Demonstrated success in account growth, relationship management, and team mentoring.
Compensation - $110,000.00 - $160,000.00
