The Opportunity

Our client, a growing independent insurance organization, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day business operations and support the continued development of its insurance practice.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily operational activities to ensure efficient and consistent service delivery.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and client experience.
  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Support business planning and operational initiatives that align with organizational objectives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to service, administrative, and insurance professionals.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing employee development.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable workplace culture.
  • Support performance management and employee engagement initiatives.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, licensing, and professional standards.
  • Support internal audit, quality control, and documentation processes.
  • Monitor operational procedures and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Assist with risk management and compliance-related initiatives.

Insurance Operations Support

  • Collaborate with internal teams on new business, renewals, and client service activities.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of insurance submissions and marketing activities.
  • Maintain relationships with insurance markets and underwriting partners.
  • Assist with issue resolution involving clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.

Reporting & Business Support

  • Prepare operational reports and provide insights to leadership regarding performance and workflow trends.
  • Track key business activities and support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate special projects and business improvement initiatives as required.

Qualifications

  • Active RIBO license in good standing.
  • Minimum three years of experience within an insurance brokerage or insurance operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of brokerage workflows, client service processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
  • Commercial insurance knowledge is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Experience using brokerage management systems and standard business software applications is considered an asset.

Salary Information

Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined by our client and may vary based on several factors, including local market conditions, geographic location, and job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, experience, education, and credentials.

Expected salary range: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 annually.
