The Opportunity

Our client, a growing and well-established insurance brokerage, is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Account Executive to join its commercial insurance team.

This role is ideal for a relationship-driven insurance professional with experience managing mid-sized to large commercial accounts. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, develop tailored risk management solutions, and collaborate with insurance markets to secure comprehensive coverage programs.

The position offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated commercial clients, contribute to business growth initiatives, and play a leadership role within a collaborative brokerage environment.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management & Advisory Services

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial insurance clients across a variety of industries.
  • Provide strategic advice and customized insurance solutions based on client risk exposures and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through proactive communication and service excellence.
  • Conduct coverage reviews and recommend program enhancements as needed.

Marketing & Placement

  • Market new and renewal business to insurance carriers and negotiate competitive terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and deliver professional proposals, coverage recommendations, and renewal presentations.
  • Coordinate the placement of commercial insurance programs across multiple lines of business.
  • Maintain strong relationships with underwriting partners and insurance markets.

Business Development

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through additional products and services.
  • Support account retention and growth initiatives.
  • Contribute to new business opportunities through referrals, networking, and relationship management.
  • Stay informed on market conditions, emerging risks, and industry trends.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with service teams, technical specialists, and insurer partners to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members when appropriate.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum seven years of commercial insurance brokerage experience.
  • Active RIBO license in good standing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance products.
  • Experience with complex commercial risks, including liability, professional lines, cyber, management liability, and specialty coverages.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience using brokerage management systems and related technology platforms.
  • Professional insurance designations such as CIP, CAIB, CPIB, CRM, or similar credentials are considered assets.
  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related discipline is considered an asset.

Salary Information

Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined by our client and may vary based on several factors, including local market conditions, geographic location, and job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, experience, education, and credentials.

Expected salary range: $150,000.00 – $185,000.00 annually + commission.
