About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a driven and relationship-oriented Business Development Executive to support the continued growth of its commercial insurance practice.
This role is focused on identifying new business opportunities, developing trusted advisor relationships, and helping commercial organizations implement effective risk management and insurance strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with technical insurance specialists and service teams to deliver customized solutions while building a long-term portfolio of business clients.

Primary Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Generate new client opportunities through networking, referrals, industry engagement, and targeted outreach initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects across commercial industries.
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand client operations, exposures, and insurance requirements.
- Present strategic recommendations and insurance solutions tailored to client objectives.
- Consistently work toward achieving individual growth and revenue goals.
Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with business owners, executives, and decision-makers.
- Act as a trusted advisor by providing ongoing guidance regarding insurance programs and risk management strategies.
- Conduct regular client reviews to identify emerging needs and opportunities.
- Support long-term client retention through proactive relationship management.
Insurance Program Development
- Work collaboratively with insurance markets and internal specialists to secure appropriate coverage solutions.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of proposals, renewal strategies, and market submissions.
- Negotiate terms and conditions that align with client expectations and risk profiles.
- Support clients through key stages of the insurance lifecycle, including renewals and claims-related matters.
Portfolio & Business Management
- Maintain accurate records of prospecting activities, client interactions, and account information.
- Support account growth through cross-selling and account expansion initiatives.
- Monitor outstanding items and ensure timely follow-up where required.
- Maintain compliance with applicable licensing, regulatory, and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial insurance, business development, professional services sales, or a related client-facing industry.
- Active insurance license or ability to obtain one.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, networking, and relationship-driven sales.
- Strong understanding of commercial risk management concepts is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Salary Information
Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined by our client and may vary based on several factors, including local market conditions, geographic location, and job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, experience, education, and credentials.
Expected salary range: $140,000.00 – $160,000.00 annually.
