About the Opportunity

An established and growing commercial insurance brokerage is seeking a Commercial Account Manager to join its team. This role is ideal for an insurance professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships, delivering strategic advice, and providing exceptional service throughout the insurance lifecycle.

Working closely with Producers and internal support teams, the successful candidate will manage a portfolio of commercial clients while helping to ensure strong retention, optimized coverage solutions, and an outstanding client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management & Advisory Services

  • Manage and service a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts, acting as a primary point of contact for client needs.
  • Review client operations, exposures, and claims history to identify potential coverage gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with Producers to develop renewal strategies, account plans, and client presentations.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries, policy changes, coverage requests, and service-related matters.
  • Review contractual insurance requirements and assist clients in ensuring appropriate coverage alignment.
  • Advocate for clients throughout the claims process and coordinate with insurers when required.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term retention and satisfaction.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal support staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of documentation, certificates, and policy transactions.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members when appropriate.
  • Foster strong internal communication and collaboration to ensure a consistent client experience.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented workplace culture.

Operations & Business Support

  • Maintain accurate and organized client files and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance carrier partners.
  • Participate in networking opportunities, industry events, and business development initiatives when appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, brokerage procedures, and internal standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial insurance experience within a brokerage environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products, coverages, and policy structures.
  • Insurance licensing required.
  • CIP, CAIB, or related industry designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Client-focused and consultative approach to service.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and brokerage management systems.

Salary Information

Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined by our client and may vary based on several factors, including local market conditions, geographic location, and job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, experience, education, and credentials.

Expected salary range: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 annually + commission.
